By car you can reach the edge of the lowland Corbières in around 45 minutes en route to the sea.
The site of 450,000 year old HOMME DE TAUTAVEL can be seen at la Caune de l’Arago (east of Maury
on the "tourist route" between Limoux and Perpignan). Special displays depicting
cave settlements of 600,000 to 400,000 years ago are shown in an adjacent building.
